Meetings: Meetings are held montly at the Church, except for the summer months.
Special activites: Novena prior to all major Marian feasts; periodic "Living Rosary"; yearly sponsoring of the
"Crowning of Mary" in May.
Recent events:
The Third Order of Mary at St. Julian Eymard Parish in New Orleans celebrated its 50th anniversary in February.
Joyce has provided photos and documents of this celebration which have been sent to the Archives of the
Marist Fathers and Brothers.
50 years celebrants
49 years celebrant rectress addressing the group
On Saturday April 28th, our group celebrated St Peter Chanel's feast day with the parish. We processed in under the
T.O.M. banner, lead the rosary before mass and received communion as a group. Prior to mass, Joyce Albert had
given a short talk on St Peter Chanel and a little history on the group activities at the parish. Everyone interested was
invited to join us at the monthly meetings.
Two events were held in May:
On Saturday, May 5th, we held the annual parish May crowning. Mr Fabien Becnel Sr (100 years old) our senior
member was honored to carry our Lady's crown. His son Fabien Jr did the actual crowning. The parish honored our
Lady with flowers and song.
Dolly Naquin crowns our Lady
On May 9th, a partnership gathering was organised in honor of Fr Ted Keating's visit to the area.
Derek Coelho, Fr Edwin Keel, Fr Ellis Depriest, Fr Peter Blanchard and Brother Albert Thiffaut were also present.
